⚙️ Action
- 🔗 Inhibits fungal cell mitosis by disrupting microtubule function.
- 🧴 Deposits in keratin precursor cells → protects new skin, hair, and nails from infection.
💉 Indications
- 🦠 Dermatophyte infections (skin, hair, nails).
- 👣 Tinea infections (e.g., tinea corporis, tinea pedis, tinea unguium).
🔄 Interactions
- ⚠️ Reduces warfarin efficacy (↓ anticoagulant effect).
- ⬇️ Efficacy reduced by barbiturates.
- 🍷 Alcohol may cause a disulfiram-like reaction.
⚠️ Cautions
- 🚫 History of acute porphyria.
- 👨 Men: avoid fathering children for 6 months post-therapy.
- 👩 Women: avoid pregnancy during treatment and for 1 month after.
