Chemotherapy agents are drugs designed to target and destroy rapidly dividing cancer cells. By disrupting cell division, chemotherapy can control, reduce, or eliminate cancerous growths. However, because chemotherapy affects both cancerous and normal cells, particularly those that also rapidly divide (like hair follicles and bone marrow), it is associated with a range of side effects.
