๐ง Clinical mechanism: Abnormal trophoblastic proliferation includes complete and partial hydatidiform moles and rarely gestational trophoblastic neoplasia.
๐ Recognise

๐ First assessment and action
- Refer through early pregnancy/gynaecology specialist pathways; arrange appropriate follow-up and counselling through a designated trophoblastic centre.
๐งช Investigations and reassessment
- Ultrasound and serial hCG under specialist direction, with histopathology after evacuation where indicated.
โ ๏ธ Pitfall / escalation
- Persistent hCG after treatment needs ongoing specialist surveillance; do not discharge solely because vaginal bleeding resolves.
