Makindo Medicine is an educational textbook and clinical revision resource for medical students, doctors and other healthcare professionals. It is not a clinical decision-support system, medical service or substitute for professional judgement.
For patients and the public
These pages do not assess symptoms, provide a diagnosis, prescribe treatment or establish a doctor–patient relationship. If you have a personal health concern, speak to a suitably qualified healthcare professional. In the UK, call 999 for a life-threatening emergency or use NHS 111 for urgent but non-emergency advice.
For clinicians and students
The material may contain omissions, errors, dated guidance or context-specific recommendations. Verify current evidence, NICE guidance, national guidance, local pathways, laboratory ranges and specialist advice before using the information to manage an individual patient. Always consider patient preferences, comorbidities, pregnancy, age, frailty, organ function, contraindications and local resources.
Medication safety: Do not use drug doses, infusion rates, treatment durations, monitoring requirements or contraindication lists here as your sole prescribing reference. Check the current British National Formulary (BNF/BNFC as appropriate), the relevant Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC), MHRA safety communications and your local formulary. Some content may use non-UK terminology or guidelines.
Currency and clinical review
Wiki revision history shows when website pages were edited, but a revision date is not proof of a clinical evidence review. Unless a specific chapter says otherwise, no assurance is given that it has undergone recent independent peer review, formal governance approval or verification against the latest guidelines.
Authorship and responsibility
Named editorial contributors are responsible for using sources carefully and respecting the limits of their competence; access to this website does not imply endorsement by the NHS, GMC, NICE or an employing organisation. External links are informational and do not imply endorsement.
Illustrations, confidentiality and intellectual property
